Hotmail Error Message

Postby sOulbAit » Sun Aug 08, 2010 1:51 pm

I have been receving a new error message within my Hotmail email account. While running Ad Muncher and then logging into my hotmail account, I keep getting this message (yellow banner) at the top of the page: "Windows Live Hotmail was not able to complete this request. Microsoft may contact you about any issues you report".

I tried a few diffrent filters to correct this, I tried No Filtering on URL for: live.com and that did not work. This is the url you see on this page: http://by119w.bay119.mail.live.com/

Here is how I fixed it. I did a No Filtering On URL for: hotmail.com

You never see the hotmail.com come up in the url, but it must link to it somehow.

Also by just allowing the hotmail.com filter, you still keep all the ads from poping up on you email page. Yaaaaaa

Anyway that corrected that stupid yellow banner with the words: "Windows Live Hotmail was not able to complete this request. Microsoft may contact you about any issues you report. "

Thanks guys for this great program. I would be lost without it. Keep up the fantastic work.

Hotmail is working fine on my end.

What version of Ad Muncher are you using?

This one?

http://www.admuncher.com/beta.pl

Also, disable your custom list and try again after updating.

Downloaded and installed the beta. Disabled my list and went to: by119w.bay119.mail.live.com

While the page was loading, I again got the yellow line containing the words: "Windows Live Hotmail was not able to complete this request. Microsoft may contact you about any issues you report".

I reenabled my list that has: No Filtering of URL. For the filter: hotmail.com and the page loaded correctly without the above yellow line.

I did notice at the bottom of internet explorer, while the mail.live.com page was loading, I saw where it accessed hotmail.com, if that is any help.

I am running windows 7, internet explorer 8.

I first go to the login.live.com - when I get to that page, I then click on one of my three saved email address. Then when it gos to that email page, I have it go directly to my inbox. That is the page I am getting that yellow statement, along with my list of emails.

If I can help out any further, please let me know.

Thanks again. PS. It does the same thing on my other computer too.

Do you have any of the options on the Advanced tab enabled?

Unfortunately hotmail is not broken for me.

So either you've changed Ad Muncher from a default setting or something else is causing the error you are seeing.

Thanks for checking on this Jeff.

I'll just keep No Filtering of URL for - hotmail.com.

There are no ads (because it is a live.mail.com page) and it keeps that yellow line off the page associated with hotmail.com.

Thanks again and have a great day.

Using Ad Muncher Beta v4.9 32193/3133 on Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 8 I see the same error message displayed on my Hotmail Inbox. Adding "No Filtering On URL for: hotmail.com" fixed this. The only entry in the Ad Muncher logs referring to *.hotmail.com when the yellow bar was displayed was:

Default filter match - Block retrieval of URL: /i2a.js [http://gfx3.hotmail.com/mail/15.3.2523.0810/i2a.js]

My hotmail account does not have this problem.

Does anyone mind sending me a private message with their info so I can use their account to fix this?
