which of these div/span filters are equivalent

Postby fortress » Mon Feb 04, 2008 12:11 am

class="adv
class="adv*
class="adv*"
class=adv*
class=adv

I'm trying to understand the role of wildcards and quotes. Trying to create an AM rule so the advert gets removed before AdBlock Plus needs to act. Its rule is

#*class^=adv

quotes are treated as whitespace
wildcards are not needed at either end of an entry.

class="adv
class="adv*
class=adv*
class=adv

Matches that.

Why are you using ad block too?
Using two ad blockers is a very very bad idea.
That's not an ad blocker... THIS is an ad blocker.

No bovines were harmed in the making of this program.

My first popup stopper blocked too much.
My second popup stopper didn't block enough.

why?

I'm doing that too. My inbrowser adblocker catches some stuff that admuncher misses.. and it allows me to remove elements easily with element hiding helper. Is there something like that for ad muncher -- cuz the default firefox extension you guys have doesn't bring it.
