Making Dictionary.com, etc. suck less.

Postby crenshaw » Mon Nov 17, 2008 7:21 am

These custom filters should get rid of all the extra obnoxious stuff on Dictionary.com and affiliated sites. They're pretty general so they have the potential to mess up other sites, but I haven't had any trouble with them yet.

Each one of these is a Remove div/spans with text:
    class="sep"
    related searches
    class="powered"
    id="narrowmore"
    id="narrow"
    resource_center
    dictoffer

If any of you code gurus out there know how to make these site specific, so as to not break any other sites, the help would be much appreciated. Those willing to try this as-is, enjoy the new, cleaner Reference.com sites :D

(Hilariously enough, having those filters active won't allow you to read this post :P - first conflict I've had with them.)

dictionary.com looks clean to me. Maybe you need to update Ad Muncher? What version are you using?

Not clean enough, without my filters there're still that resource center, offers, and Ask.com related searches.

Some of them are recent additions.

Cleaned up a bit more for 2170.
