Hulu - Wait time unavoidable?

Postby sean2078 » Sun Apr 08, 2012 2:17 pm

So I just wanted to confirm that in light of this thread:

Hulu Detecting Admuncher! http://www.admuncher.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17103

.. Will there be no more work to address the long "unable to load" messages, as compared to how Ad Muncher worked before where there was no delay? In other words, is there no network based or browser based JS solution to get around this? I haven't researched it myself, but it would seem that since the player is flash based that you may have your hands tied barring a decompilation of the swf.

For peace of mind, should we settle on the notion that the Ad Muncher team isn't going to be working to eliminate the wait time for the foreseeable future?

( If there's any work that I can do to assist, please PM me )

Thank you

I don't think Jeff is being honest with us. :(

bzg: we're working on Hulu, but they are purposefully making it difficult. That isn't entirely our fault ;-) Please stay tuned, if there is a fix we'll find it.

Hi bzg,

Of course Murray & Jeff are not being honest with any of us, the Hulu problem has now existed for OVER 7 months and they both just try to make like it will be fixed any day now when they implement other things when of course they don't have a fix or a clue how to fix it. They know that a lot of people will not renew their license because of this, what they do is lock a forum with well over 6,000 views on the problem to IGNORE it! Here viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17103. Please don't get me wrong, I like this product but their lack of response/non fix of this problem is making many people NOT happy and many will NEVER renew the license because of it!

Jeff, U can lock this thread as well like U did the last one because of my response, I won't be sad!

I'm confused.

What lack of response?

I've replied a few dozen times...

Jeff,

Your lack of response is a FIX for this problem on Hulu, you can tell everyone here you are responding to this issue by saying I'm working on other things right now, I'm adding a great new toolbar, I'm busy coding this or that, I'll be fixing Hulu problem some day just a matter of time, I hope you don't really believe that is a response/FIX? 7 Months+ of a NON fix is not a response anyone here wants to hear, you are not being truthful with the Ad Muncher user community, I'm in the minority here because few others responding but I feel you are letting us down with FALSE promises!

We don't have a fix yet.

We can't give you what we don't have.

It's that simple.

If fixing it is possible we will release a fix.

We are indeed adding some new features that may give me the ability to do what is needed, but we won't know for sure until they are added.

If you don't believe me then there's not much else I can do.

Finally, the truth comes out.
Why didn't you just tell us this up front instead of making up excuses?

This is exactly what I've been saying all long.

Nothing has changed.

We've never lied to any of our users.

We haven't been working on hulu lately. we've been busy with the new toolbar. we still plan on getting to and fixing hulu.com properly.

The toolbar is a replacement for the browser extension system which safari and chrome lacked.

chrome now has 20% of the market share and they've been asking for a browser add-on for ages now.

hulu.com while an important site is only one site, and will be fixed eventually.

we have limited resources and have to prioritize.

we have many plans for the toolbar. it's one of the most important updates we've ever done.

The main reason I purchased A license was for Hulu ad blocking. Please re-prioritize.

Postby Jeff » Sun Mar 04, 2012 3:01 pm
I'm afraid that's not possible.

It's not a simple matter of adding a filter.

We have to debug the ads and figure out what new abilities need to be added to Ad Muncher.

We are in the middle of some big changes so it's not possible to add such changes right this second.

As soon as it is possible HULU will be given our full attention.

Please be patient. Once again we will do what no one else can and HULU will be cracked again. :)

The only reason we haven't done it yet is because we are in the middle of other changes to Ad Muncher.

Did you not read what I wrote?

We already started down the path we are on and it's impossible to do anything else until it's finished.

If you haven't figured it out yet just say so, that's better than lying to us.

Hi bzg,

You are not the only user of Ad Muncher confused by statements made by Jeff, IF he never lied to the user community he certainly tried to deceive us with false promises about Hulu which now it seems he can NOT deliver on, so I'll take that as a LIE, A BOLD face LIE, he can't fix it but wants to string License users along so they just don't revert to a FREE Extension like Ad Block Plus which does everything Ad Muncher does, no it doesn't do HULU but neither does Ad Muncher!

Steve,

He never promised anything, but he is letting his registered users down. Telling us he is blowing off Hulu for a toolbar is worse than telling us that they just cant figure it out. They need to be truthful with their registered users and think about what their PAYING members are PAYING for.

We will never be able to work on everything everyone wants us to work on...

It's just not possible.

We've been doing this for 13 years.

We know what were doing with the limited resources we have.

hulu or no hulu you are better off with Ad Muncher than without Ad Muncher.

There has been no intention, at any time, to deceiving anyone on hulu or any other issue.

Go back and read all of my comments.

Not being happy with my answer doesn't mean I'm lying or deceiving you.

hulu has always been on our TODO list and if it's possible to remove the ads then it will be done again.

There's nothing more to say on it. end of discussion.
