So to clarify, the problem experienced is that:

- You open IE8 and clear your cache.
- You log in to hotmail.com, and click your "inbox" link.
- The hourglass cursor appears after the page has loaded, and stays as an hourglass permanently.
- Clicking anything on the page does nothing.

Is that correct?

That is correct.

The only exception in my case at least, is that if I happen to have a new message in my mailbox, the page works properly for that session only.

If you think you find a fix again, feel free to PM me a download link for me to test before the next beta release.

I now got the same problem as others on IE 8 with XP. Doesn't matter which folder you want to go to in Hotmail... nothing happens. Works fine with AdMuncher disabled. Firefox works correctly regardless.

The following is an image of my hotmail account with Ad Muncher enabled. The commands outlined in green respond, the commands outlined in red do not respond
(note: when "Sweep" "Mark As" and "Arrange" are clicked, the drop-down menus appear, but the commands within those menus do not respond. When "Move to" or "Categories" are clicked the drop-down menus do not appear).

IE9 on Windows 7 here. Have tried with clear cache, no difference. I use http://mail.live.com/ (same difference) and it shows my inbox but never loads the message pane, as in the posted screenshots. It just stays on with the busy icon over the message pane and nothing else works, as you said. Minimal filtering on mail.live.com allows page loading and removes most ads, but the ad pane on the right still shows. Also, I generally use the IE9 Pinned Site Windows Live Hotmail on my taskbar to open it, in case that helps. I wrote to Jeff back when the issue initially appeared and he never responded to my replies after an initial "we can't reproduce it".. :(

Thank you so much Risug, thanks to your green/red map and description I was finally able to reproduce the problem. The inbox needs to be empty and as you noted it only affects some features.

Working on a fix now, will post here once done.

'minimal filtering' did the trick. I thinks I'll leave that custom filter there. Don't wanna get any hassles from the wife if she can't access Hotmail without jumping through hoops. I'll never get her to be rid of Internet Explorer.

Ok I've found the cause. It's nothing to do with the toolbar, but rather some script-hiding techniques we introduced in this version. Testing internally now and will distribute via a list update asap.

Happened for me (IE9/Windows 7) even when my inbox had messages, but, the good news is your fix works on my end as well! Thanks for all the ongoing work!
