Documentation errors (& bugs?)

Postby ReporterX » Mon Feb 09, 2015 9:53 pm

http://wiki.admuncher.com/Ad_Muncher/4.72/My_filters

  1. Missing the option "Use list" - no mention in the documentation.
  2. "toolbar only on domain" is missing under Available filter categories.

http://wiki.admuncher.com/Ad_Muncher/4.72/Default_filters

  1. Missing the option "Use these filters" - no mention in the documentation.

"Still use popup-related entries" checkbox

This can be enabled when the default list is disabled. It causes Ad Muncher to still use filters with the following categories:

Remove all popups from URL
Allow popups with URL

Either the options are bugged or I misunderstand their uses/functions.
The first option "Use these filters" cannot disable the default list/filters. It looks like a broken option which does not work at all.

No matter whether the second option "Still use popup-related entries" is checked, it does not have any effect.
Popups or non-popups, all default filters are just working. Is it a bug?
Thanks a lot. :)

My first popup stopper blocked too much.
My second popup stopper didn't block enough.
Ad Muncher was juuuuust right.

I did a small test.

Toolbar only on domain
No filtering on URL
Don't match against keyword

All of them seem to have the same effect, i.e. whitelisting the target URL.
What are their differences? :?:
Thanks a lot.

don't match allows overriding individual filters in specific cases.

no filtering completely removes all filtering on a site/path/domain

Toolbar only on domain removes all filtering but allows the ad muncher toolbar to continue to operate so you can toggle filtering back in from within the filtered application.

For the site netmedia.com that I tested, it does not work if I whitelist inskinmedia.com by "Toolbar only on domain".
I must choose "No filtering". That's pretty weird.

not at all.

"toolbar only "can ONLY be applied correctly via the toolbar.

if you apply it manually it won't work.

it works based on the top domain...not the ad domain.

you want:

Don't match against keyword:
.inskinmedia.com/isfe/
