block meta refresh

Postby Chrysalis » Wed Oct 23, 2013 7:46 pm

Is it possible to add this functionality to admuncher?

Now days I am seeing lots of resource leakage, performance issues caused by sites (which in my opinion) abuse refreshing, whether its for adverts or things like cloud services.

To give you an example it was routine for my firefox to use anything upwards from half a gig of ram up to about 2 gig of ram, after installing an addon to block meta refresh by default it now uses a fraction of the memory and is much more responsive, but having it in admuncher would be nice especially as IE has no way to easily block+whitelist.

Ideally I would like to have a toggle for default block or not, then a whitelist which bypass eg. paypal, this list editable by user of course, and when a refresh is blocked a link or something appears on page which can click if want the refresh to proceed.

This can be done already.

just not on a per site basis.
