Hi Murray,

Odd, guess I can not edit my posts anymore...

Well, how about a "new version" party. Say 10% discount to the end of the month? Or perhaps free for an hour...

Might help get more users involved. Just an idea...

Take Care,

Will

Now Murray can concentrate on 100% Vista support. Vista's at the RC2 stage now so the feature list is frozen. Nothing will be added & only bugs will be fixed between now and release so now is the time for developers to make sure their programs work well with Vista before it goes on sale.

Ad Muncher is the best ad blocking program available bar none.

I second the request for Vista support. I miss not having fully functional ad blocker software when running Vista RC2.

Ad Muncher works fine on vista when filtering 32 bit apps.
That's not an ad blocker... THIS is an ad blocker.

No bovines were harmed in the making of this program.

My first popup stopper blocked too much.
My second popup stopper didn't block enough.

Not with UAC enabled! :(

First, Ad Muncher can not run on startup. Second, when UAC is enabled and admuncher is running the Internet is "dead". All requests appear to just time on out.

We will not try to fix Ad Muncher for a moving target.

We will get on it when Vista final is released.

It's at the very top of the list for v4.8

Hey,

I agree, good move!

Though, I would mention something about it on the download page.

Perhaps something like this, right below "OS Compatibility" :

Support for Windows Vista Coming Soon

Take Care,

updates ONLY for 4.x now!

Postby Squuiid » Wed Oct 18, 2006 8:48 pm

I notice you now only offer free updates to people who pay for Ad-muncher for versions 4.x ONLY! I'm sure it used to be ALL future releases. What gives?
If I register can I get the previous 'All future releases' offer instead?
I want to buy it but will NOT if I can't upgrade to v5 for free. $24.95 is a lot of money for most people.

Hi!:

When you buy Ad Muncher you will get a lifetime licence so, when Ad Muncher 5 is released, your Ad Muncher 4.7 will update automatically.

With your registration information you will be able to use any Ad Muncher version. 4.7, 4.8, 4.9, 5.0, 5.x, 6.x All the new versions will accept your unlock code.

That's why it's worth buying software like Ad Muncher, that gives you a lifetime licence.

Saludos!!!

Oh my god! I have just seen that buying Ad Muncher 4.7 you only obtain updates for 4.x version.

I have posted a new reply because I couldn't edit my previous reply.

Oh my God EXACTLY. It's ridiculous!

I for one will now not be recommending nor purchasing Ad-Muncher.
Stupid move to limit updates.

It seems people who bought the software before the TOS change, you continue having a free lifetime license.

I hope it's true... because I bought it before the tos changed.

But, despite that, I think it's not been a very good idea...
