The lack of updated posts from the dev/s over version 5 stating how things are going doesn't instil hope.

it's not that we can't figure out how to make v5.x compatible with IE 11 it's that we have no resources to do so.

Jeff,
I know that Murray is working actually to help startups in Australia.
Do you think Murray could find you an investor for admuncher development ?

I think you could do another thing :
you could let us use the actual admuncher V5 (I suppose the V5 interface is better than the V4 interface, so it would be a good thing to switch now from V4 to V5).
And we will wait until you insert HTTPS/IE11 into V5.

What do you think, Jeff ?

If we see this murray's blog post : http://www.murrayhurps.com/blog/ad-muncher-version-5
We can see a video where the V5 interface seems to be working very well.

If we give up the HTTPS/IE 11 filtering for the V5 (for the moment), is it a big work to make V5 interface working without the HTTPS/IE11 filtering ?
Because the V5 interface seems to be pleasant to use (in the video).

Hi,

I think MANY/MOST of you don't fully understand why V4 Ad Muncher was turned into a Free product from a paid product (Jeff/Murray please feel free to correct me on this statement). It's now a free product to lure people away from other free products (IE AdBlock Plus) or paid products like AdGuard and to build up a LARGE Ad Muncher user base of FREE users and when the Free user base gets large enough, suddenly release V5 at a nominal fee (Sorry for the fee but HUGH development costs). It's a Good Marketing ploy for a product that was losing market share before, Murray knows what he is doing, he is a smart business person, I hope you all understand this.... So don't expect to see V5 anytime soon, but I think it will happen or Jeff will be out of a Job LOL!

Out of curiosity, why have you guys never considered crowdfunding?

For something like this (especially with the reputation the Ad Muncher has/had), I'd wager it'd be easy to get funded. At this point, nobody knows what resources you lack and by how much. I see more harm being done to Ad Muncher via public stagnation (I have no idea what's going on behind closed doors) than whatever the competitors are doing. If crowdfunding can assist in getting Ad Muncher 5 that much faster, a lot of things would fall into place imo.

I've stuck with Ad Muncher through thick and thin but I'll be honest when I see the competition slowly catch up and even surpass in some aspects... it bothers me. Ad Muncher is still my go to for the very reason it filters outside the browser though. :)

crowding funding does not work for a 16 year old software product with many free alternatives.

All the comments would just be how we lied or let users down etc... it wouldn't be pretty.

Not to mention, running such a campaign would be almost as much work as a full time job...

I have no doubt if we found the right investor we'd be able to get his money back to him in a year or two but finding the right person or company is not an easy task.

I'm sure that the Ad Muncher community (as a community of people who rarely change their software habits) will help.

As AM doesn't work with IE 11 & other ad blockers do it's quite possible people will try it but may not stay with it unless they're using a supported browser.
I, for one will be disappointed if AM ver 5 is released as a paid-for app as I was a lifetime license user which was lost when the app became free.
Tbh I would've preferred that the devs had kept the status quo with the app but perhaps those who paid for lifetime licenses could've paid a small/reduced fee to purchase a new license for new versions - ver 4 - vers 5 etc.
