[quote="Jeff"]After installing v4.73 there should be a install.ini file in your Ad Muncher folder.

Open it with a text editor. Find the line that points to customstrings.dat and move your file to that location overwriting the file if it exists.

Do this while Ad Muncher is closed.[/quote]
Thanks, it's working:) :respect:

Hello there, everyone. I had the program for while now it's always been great. Just gotta luv it. But I do have a question in the mist here.. .is there going to be any support for the (x64) browsers in general? I have been using windows Internet Explorer (x64) version more and more and it's actually works really smoothe.. but admuncher doesn't work with it... but the 32 bit it will... so please I am in the hopping state that it will be supporting the x64 bit version soon in the future. :)?

Yes, v4.74 will support filtering of 64 bit applications. A lot of work was done on this before work on Windows 7 support was added to 4.73

We will continue this work on 4.74 as soon as 4.73 is completed.

Cant wait! Love seeing the reinforcement that it's being worked on.

Admuncher is working great on Windows 7 for me. Once it works on IE x64, I will feel like it's truely "next gen" experience with Windows 7. (now if only Adobe could somehow manage to get a 64-bit Flash player. WTH???)

This is probably a long standing and not easily changed thingie, but it would be nice of the Ad Muncher configuration window started up in focus and not behind every other app windows that might be present. But I only really took notice of this again because Windows 7 has an annoying long blinking effect on applications that start without taking focus. It's not like I need to open the config every day either as everything is just smooth, but anyway. :)

The always on top setting only affects the current session here, quit and start anew then it's back to normal though the box remains checked. Haven't tried that setting before though. Build 30615. http://i42.tinypic.com/ycdz.png

Then there's not much we can do about this.

The "flashing system tray entry" is actually what happens when Windows blocks an application's attempt to bring its window to the top. In other words, Ad Muncher is asking Windows to put the focus on its configuration window, and Windows is blocking the request and making the system tray flash annoyingly instead.

I've tried previously to get around this focus blocking without success. I'll try again when time allows, but in the mean time I'm pretty sure there is a registry setting somewhere to disable this behavior in Windows.

Any chance there might be a bit of old code in there somewhere that affects the program windows position in comparison to other open windows? I'm just thinking since the program window opens up behind precisely every other window as well. It's just a curious little thing. :)

[quote="Murray"]The current beta is available from:

This page refers to some antivirus scanners issuing a false positive on Ad Muncher. Until a few days ago, I had not seen that problem. But...following a Trend Micro signature update, Ad Muncher was listed as having a virus and quarantined. Because of the crappy design of TM, you can only whitelist a program by browsing to it. When the program in question is quarantined, it's no longer in its program folder. It took me a LOT of screwing around to finally get it whitelisted (my apologies for not remembering how; I tried so many things (and, of course, only the last one worked ;-) )). More than a bit of a pain, Murray.

Very sorry for the trouble John. This is a problem in Trend Micro however, which needs to be fixed on their end.

Completely understood. Just a heads-up in case you hear from others experiencing the same problem.

BTW, what do I need to do to get the QUOTE function to work? Do I need to turn BBCode ON? If so, how? I can't find an option to do that in the User Control Panel.
