Thanks for understanding John, it's hugely annoying when this happens, but we generally wait until the final Ad Muncher release is out before submitting problem reports to any AV companies because they usually just white-list the one file, rather than fixing what is causing the false positive, and we'll have more betas out before the 4.73 final.

Not too sure about the quoting feature, any phpBB gurus around here that can point me in the right direction?

[quote="johnmaar"]Completely understood. Just a heads-up in case you hear from others experiencing the same problem.

BTW, what do I need to do to get the QUOTE function to work? Do I need to turn BBCode ON? If so, how? I can't find an option to do that in the User Control Panel.[/quote]

Works just fine here :) You can enable BBCode by default by going to the User Control Panel, Board Preferences tab, Edit Posting Defaults. I do show BBCode as off here, so it must work without it.

Edit: So much for it working. Oddness.

4.73 Beta Build 30615 all of a sudden stopped letting me update the ad list past 2526. The Ad Muncher homepage says the current ad list is 2528, but when I check for updates it says there are no updates.

Just a quick note to say sorry for the messing around with updates - we've been making some really big changes to how Ad Muncher filters page and we really can't use the same list for the new betas and the old ones (or v4.72). As always we'll try to get v4.73 out of beta ASAP so this isn't an issue.

Hello,
Is 30615/2532 the latest beta version?
Is there likely to be any later versions before October 22nd (windows 7 release date)?

I have Beta 4.73 30615/2532 and have not any any updates for a number of days now. Is this correct at this time and updates will continue?

Hi. I'm wondering why is the downloadlink on this topic start refering to version 30615 and on the live chat there are newer versions? Are these beta on betaversions?

In order to minimize the impact of any bugs on our users, betas are released for testing in the following order:

1. In-house testing performed by the Ad Muncher developers.

2. If no problems are found, the beta is then posted to the Ad Muncher chat channel (#AdMuncher on EFnet). The URL of the beta will include the text "DO_NOT_DISTRIBUTE" at this point.

3. If no problems are found, the beta is then released on the automatic update system in Ad Muncher for people who have the option enabled to "Load development versions of Ad Muncher".

We kindly ask that people not post betas to beta news sites when their URL includes the "DO_NOT_DISTRIBUTE" text, as in the past this has resulted in serious bugs being experienced by a far larger audience than was needed.
