Man, it seems like no other version apart from AM 4.7 will ever see the light of day.
Heh, that's true. :?

Can you say a ballpark estimation how much of 5.0 is done? Like 60-70 %

Could we possibly get an update from Murray as to the status of v4.7 and whats currently going on behind the scenes?

I am working to finish v4.7 as quickly as I possibly can. Currently I am working on the last feature change for v4.7, which is RSA signing of updates for security purposes. This will stop any possible "man-in-the-middle" style attacks which might modify the updated program binaries in transit.

Works Great with IE 7 beta 2!

Postby JackBaurer24 » Mon Apr 10, 2006 3:01 am

I posted originally in the bugs section asking if AdMuncher worked well with IE 7. From what I have read, AM seems to be pretty stable. With that in mind, I installed AM and I am now running it with Internet Explorer 7 beta 2.

After a few minutes of installation, everything seems to be working fine. AdMuncher is blocking ads like crazy. Some of the sites I have visited are MSNBC, CNN, E! Online, Wal-Mart, JC Penney, Yahoo E-Mail, Hotmail, etc. and it’s working like a charm.

As time progresses, I will keep you updated. Let me know the correct thread to post.

FYI: I’m running Windows XP SP2 with a broadband/cable internet connection.

"Just keep on blockin' 'til the cows come home!"
Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge and opinions.

Same request here; I've been using the beta successfully for weeks, are you still on this RSA thing?

Great work, the ff/opera integration is a very nice addition.

Sweet! :)

26930/E - Finished implementing a new update retrieval protocol and registration
management system. Some highlights include:
- New retrieval protocol optimized for minimum transfer size.
- Compression of updates to further reduce transfer size.
- RSA encryption of registration details to help keep them private.
- RSA signing of retrieved updates to ensure they aren't altered.
