Nothing has changed for old licenses. They are grandfathered in.
I'm not sure if mine is one of those or not. How do i check? And, if not, what about a discount for those that have already paid for version 4?

Lookup your license.

http://www.admuncher.com/reglookup.shtml

Depending on the license you have there will be a discount for some users when 5.x is released.

It says:

Your license is currently valid for 1 simultaneous installation with
premium list updates, program updates and support until v5.0 is
released.

It doesn't say anything about a discount when version 5 is released. What I want to know is if I am able to get a discount now, before version 5 comes out, for the lifetime license since I already regged version 4. I may not have the funds then.

I already saw that but that doesn't show any discount. I would be paying the same as someone who newly registered. the fair way to do it would be take the lifetime license price and subtract what I paid for version 4. Otherwise, i would be paying about 1 and 1/3 more total.

The discount is that you aren't paying for the license again.

You're paying to extend it.

Everyone pays that.

New users pay that + the price of the license.

Try it by going to the check out and starting a new license.

Your cost will be lower than that.

It's up to you if you want to extend it.

Ok, what will the upgrade fee be for going from a version 4 license like I have to the next version (5)? It might be cheaper to go that route each year as no one knows what will be in 5 years from now.

That price hasn't been set yet, and it won't be a v5.x license. It too will be a yearly license.

The only non yearly license is the life time one.

That is what I meant. A subscription. It would be nice to know at least a ball-park figure so we can figure out which is the best way to go. I would think those that have supported you up to now would matter at least that much. Also, have you though about going with 1, 2 and 3 year subscriptions? That is what a lot of programs are going to now.

It will cost less than the yearly price is now.

The price won't be set until v5.x is actually released.

As for your suggestion, that's already an option when choosing to purchase a license.

On the second page.

If I understood it right, you have to pay for a year of updates on top of the registration price? Kind of a rip-off, don't you think? Most software programs come with a year of updates when you register. If a person registers the program and doesn't buy the year of updates, then they have a program that won't get updates at all, or am I missing something?

Also, just to let you in on something... the economy still sucks. Not a very good time to raise prices.

No, that's not what happens.

It's either a 1, 2 or 3 year license.

It's not what you described.

So you pay to register the program for $29.95 and get a year of updates, right? And then add the extra years on from that? If you add a year of updates to the price, it would actually be two years of updates then? If that is the case, $20 a year for updates if kind of high compared with a lot of other programs.

Well it's up to you if you'll renew your license when v5.x is released.

Luckily you won't have to make that decision for awhile. :)

We'll continue to improve Ad Muncher and release daily list updates.
