Premium License Questions

Postby Sparxxx » Tue Nov 09, 2010 11:06 am

Hi,

I am interested in buying a Premium License for Ad Muncher, however I
have a few quiestions:

- is the license valid only 1 year ? (is there a option for buying a
lifetime license)
- what happens if a new version of Ad Muncher comes out (for example v5.x)
- if I replace a my laptop/desktop will I be able to use the same license?

Regards,
Sparxxx

1.) Normal license is for 1 year. Yes, you can by a lifetime license on the register page. That is after you first click the continue button.

On that next page, is the option "Extend to unlimited updates for $79.95 AUD, approximately $81.02 USD.".

2.) If you just buy the normal license it only covers version 4 of AdMuncher. If you buy the unlimited updates then it's what it says. Unlimited, forever! Note that version 5 of AdMuncher is still more than likely years away.

Update: License changed recently as Jeff notes below. 1 year now means 1 year, period. Good thing, easier to understand.

3.) Each license if for 1 computer at a time. So yes if you replace a computer you can reinstall AdMuncher on the new one. You just cant use that same license on more than 1 computer at a time.

Note: "If you would like to move a license to a different system, Ad Muncher must be uninstalled from or reverted to trial mode on the first system before the license is used on the new one."

You can simply revert the first computer back to trial mode on the about page by simply clicking the "Reset registration" button.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
I have checked and, yes, there is an option for unlimited license.
However I don't understand why I have to pay 2 licenses... one for 1 year and the 2nd one would be the lifetime license.
I mean, isn't there an option just for the lifetime license? It doesn't make sense to pay for 1 year cause I'm buying the lifetime anyway...

We no longer actually have version based licenses.

So when v5.x is released no longer matters. :)

You can upgrade to any version released during your license period.

As for your question about the lifetime license, the price is to EXTEND the 1 year license into an unlimited one.

So the total price is the price for a "lifetime" license.

Nice, glad to hear that 1 year really means 1 year then. :D

Well, like Jeff said, it's like an add-on. So you pay for the normal license that includes 1 year of free updates. Then if you wish you can extend your 1 year license to a lifetime license by buying the lifetime license add-on.

In other words, 1 year of updates is included in the price of paying for AdMuncher. But if you wish to extend the update period you can, which includes the lifetime of updates option.

The basic license lets you update once a week.

The premium license lets you update every day.

And since there's at least one list update per day, it can mean the difference of seeing an ad or leaving your system exposed to a new threat for an entire week.

Nothing happens to a 6 year old license. It's the same as a lifetime license.

Paypal is the only payment service we offer as of right now.

Best software in the world, makes browsing the web enjoyable. I will be updating to 2 X lifetime licences if I live long enough for my 3 year licenses to expire. :)

Does admuncher lose functionality when the license expires? Or just don't update filters/program?

BTW I can't pay for admuncher using paypal. I get error: "At this time, we are unable to process your request. Please return to Murray Hurps Corp Pty Ltd and try another option." :(

edit: thank you for answer, Jeff.

Ad Muncher without filter list updates will quickly become worse than nothing since broken pages will no longer be fixed...

As for paypal, you'll need to contact paypal to see what's wrong.

You'd think so - but their "Buy Now!" link still works - and they'll gladly take your money.

So - how is it free? :?:

Notice the "soon" part?
