Question browser extensions

Postby qRA8r7iEj » Mon Feb 20, 2012 2:48 pm

33004/E - Finished implementing a new toolbar system for Ad Muncher. This
system displays a toolbar inside filtered pages whenever the shift
key is held down, or when a popup is blocked or other information
needs to be displayed.
This system has replaced the old browser extension system and means
we don't need a different version of the extensions for every
browser type, and will allow us to expose much more complex
functionality in the future.

I just installed the latest beta, but I can't figure out where this shows up. I tried IE 9 64-bit, Firefox 10.0.2, Slimbrowser... Holding down the shift key, etc. When you hold down the shift key in IE, all links open a new window.

What am I missing? It sounds like a cool feature.

Doesn't it work in Chrom for you? For me, in Iron, it appears to work on the forum here and wherever I go.

I just tested it in IE8, and it's working there to.

It works for me in Chrome and IE, but not FireFox 10.0.2 and Slimbrowser. Slimbrowser, I can understand... "non-name" ie shell. But Firefox? I tried right click and control-right click.

It sounds like they should update the documentation on that enhancement, since SHIFT has nothing to do with it.

Either way, Hey Ad Muncher, VERY NICE!

Yes, we forgot to mention the change from SHIFT to CTRL + right click during the beta process. :)

It's working properly here in my firefox 10.x

make sure you don't have noscript blocking it or another add-on that captures right clicks.

My first popup stopper blocked too much.
My second popup stopper didn't block enough.
Ad Muncher was juuuuust right.

Thanks, it only shows on a tab where blocks occurred. It does work in Firefox for me also.

And it does work in Slimbrowser also!

I've been an AdMuncher user for ~10 years, or at least that what it feels like. I've been using IE9 for the last year, but the bugs and performance problems are really getting me down so I thought I would switch to Firefox, which I used to use a few years ago. What's the status of the Firefox extension for AdMuncher? I can't find a clear statement anywhere. The post I chose to reply to (since I can't figure out how to make a new post) seems to imply that an extension is no longer necessary, but there's definitely no blocking going on in my Firefox 12. Can someone please explain the current status? Thanks!

The browser extension was never needed for filtering.

Firefox has always been properly filtered.

All of the browser specific right click extensions were replaced with a single universal browser toolbar.

It works in all modern browsers.

Make sure you have this version installed.

Using the latest Firefox 13.0 whenever I do a google.co.uk search on for example "iphone" I always get the "Ads" at the top & bottom of the search results pages.

This doesn't happen if I'm using IE9 and all I get is the actual search results which is correct.

I'm using Ad Muncher v4.93.33502/4104 Beta.

What am I doing wrong?
