Yahoo Web Player

Postby acr » Tue May 01, 2012 3:40 am

There is this Yahoo Web Player that slides in from the side of the page every time the page is loaded. I have Ad Muncher filtering Firefox 11, IE 9 and Chrome 18.0.1050.0 running on Windows 7, 32 bit. The "web player" shows up in every browser.

Here is the link - http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/scoreboard?d=2012-05-01

Can this web player be blocked?

It's not showing up for me either anymore. I believe the web player shows some live games and highlights. So is it possible that it does not appear unless live games are in play? I'll check again tomorrow and see if it is back. Live games won't start back up until about 16 hours from now.

Add CSS to all pages:
.ywp-container {display:none !important;}

Now it's back. The web player is not back - only the sound is. But there is no way to shut off the broadcast sound. Here is a link - http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/scoreboard

Any way to shut out the sound?

Block retrieval of URL:
.yimg.com/pb/webplayer/

This seems to work with IE and Firefox but not Chrome.
IE 9
FF 12
Chrome 18.0.1050.0 (SRware Iron)
Windows 7, 32 bit
