On another site, it was stated that the free version will be here by the end of July.
There's never been any reliable statement about the date for a version 5 release to the public.

So, it's another case of wait and see.
If the free version is suddenly available on August 1st, then Murray will get, finally, a deserved thumbs up and pat on the back.
But, if that date passes and nothing happens. Well then, it will be business as usual, and users will be disappointed once again.
I kind of like to think he'll follow through with the free version, but less sure about version 5.

I don't think we can even begin to anticipate the version 5 release. Can't find any release date mentioned for it.

Not sure I can wait any longer for https filtering. It seems that every day more and more sites switch to secure by default.

I've used Adguard for a trial period and was generally quite impressed. It's such a relief to finally be able to filter https. If I'm completely honest, I think it's a lot easier to create custom filters on Ad Muncher but I'm sure it will be possible to quickly get to grips with it on Ad Guard.

I may come back to check out v5 if/when it eventually does happen.

It's probably the only time (at least for me) that he appears to understand the subject of software piracy and the advantages of free over paid.
Perhaps this is a glimpse into how he might behave towards his user base in the future. I hope he decides to give users more information about version 5.

It was interesting that he hinted about Ad Muncher getting involved in firewall and antivirus products.
That would be a great idea if they work as well as AM does, but it would be a major disappointment if they were integrated into Ad Muncher.

He needs to do more interviews like this one.

About a week ago, I built myself a new desktop, but had to decide whether to put on AM4 which doesn't work with my browser of choice IE11 or simply not use anything & hope for a speedy release of a beta (or alpha) of AM5....I decided on the latter, but hope I've not made the wrong choice as I've been bombarded with popups & ads the like I've not seen for many years.

I'll give it a few more days for some (any) news of any sort of release.

Just use Adblock+ or Privoxy or something. Ad Muncher is just a glorified proxy anyway.
